Harrison Square Project Restarts

Lead architect, and founding Design Collaborative Partner, Ron Dick spoke at a press conference in downtown Fort Wayne on Monday 2/14 announcing the construction of the $18m downtown Harrison Square project will begin this year. The 4-story building will house apartments, a law firm, a credit union, & O’Reilly’s Irish Bar. Construction will begin when weather permits and is scheduled for completion within 15 months.

Design Collaborative Makes a Field Trip

On Thursday, October 14th, the lunch hour was spent touring Hanning & Bean’s newest leased building… a corporate headquarters on the southwest side of Fort Wayne. The 80,000 sf building will be officially completed in the next few days so the DC associates were able to get a sneak preview. The DC design team, led by architects Kelly Shields, Tim Terman and Ron Dick, included Rich Busfield, Jamie Inskeep, Terry Wagner, Kevin Fenn and many others from Design Collaborative.

Design Begins on New Athletic Facility for Hillsdale College

Design Collaborative is in the early design stages of a new indoor track and tennis facility for Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan.  The facility will include a 200m track, tennis courts and support space for the NCAA DII Hillsdale College Chargers.

DC Designs Renovation of the League for the Blind & Disabled

DC has been retained to renovate the League for the Blind & Disabled facility on South Anthony Blvd. and Paulding Rd. in Fort Wayne.

The first phase of the renovation includes the creation of additional offices and office upgrades to accommodate the League’s growing staff and services.  The League for the Blind & Disabled, Inc. is a Center for Independent Living that serves people with disabilities and communities in a primary target area that encompasses eleven counties in Northeast Indiana.

Asbury Seminary Groundbreaking

On Monday, November 9th, administrators, faculty, trustees and guests attended the groundbreaking of the Phase I Housing project for Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.  Dr. Timothy Tennent, President of Asbury, presided over the event.  The Design/Build contractor is Irmscher, Inc. from Fort Wayne, partnered with Design Collaborative, The LandPlan Group and GRW civil engineers.  Phase I is a 100-unit development for seminary students, consisting of 2 and 3 bedroom family apartments.   The design creates a community “neighborhood” feel.  Jeremy Hatfield, NCARB, LEED AP is the Project Manager for Design Collaborative.  The DC project team includes Ron Dick, Justin Vedder, Kelly Shields, Eric Sank and Jason Baker.
