Saint John’s Lutheran Church Holds Dedication Ceremony

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010
Saint John’s Lutheran Church on Cook Road dedicated their building addition and renovations on Sunday, April 18th with a ceremony and potluck luncheon.  Pastor Ralph Easterhaus dedicated the renovated sanctuary and fellowship hall, as well as the new narthex, office and classroom addition.  Building committee co-chairmen Don Harter and Al Kuehnert presided over the setting of the date stone and time capsule.  DC is extremely proud of the transformation the renovation and addition had on this facility and are excited to be a part of the legacy Saint John’s has left for future generations.  Team members for this project included Jeremy Hatfield, Dave West, Jamie Inskeep, Nick Knoblauch, Ryan Birkey, Kim Hyland, Eric Sank, Jason Baker and Ron Dick.  Shawnee Construction was the general contractor on the project.

DC in the Community

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

On Saturday, April 17 the first annual “Plank-a-Palooza” was held at Parkview Field.  This is a fund raiser-competition for the Early Childhood Alliance that requires teams to construct a “building” using small, wooden planks.  The DC team, pictured below, included Ron and Adam Dick, Nick Knoblauch, and Kelli Warner and they were awarded the prize for the most creative entry.  Nice work, DC! 8 teams competed and $7,000 was raised for our friends at ECA.

Design Collaborative was also represented Saturday at the annual Cookin’ Men event which is a fund raiser for the Parkview Health Foundation.  At Cookin’ Men, your ticket allows you to enjoy extraordinary food and spirits prepared by nearly 80 local  men who put on their chef hats that evening to support an excellent cause – the mobile mammography program, a partnership between Francine’s Friends and Parkview Hospital. DC was represented by Eric and Kim Sank, Bill and Ellen Ledger, and Mike and Linda Sullivan.  They all reported the food was great!
