FORE!!

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

On Friday, May 7 everyone at Design Collaborative directed their design talents to something completely different than the buildings we work on every day.  We designed a golf course instead…right here in our office!  We had twenty minutes to plan and construct a “putt-putt” hole around our individual workstations using whatever building materials, samples and supplies we could get our hands on.  Once all holes were constructed (some even came with built-in “sand traps” and “water hazards”), everyone gathered for the shotgun start.  Although par for our course was not an easy thing to figure out, we did determine that the winner, and this year’s recipient of the DC putt-putt Masters green jacket, was Ron Dick (and no, Phil Mickelson was not present to help Ron put on the jacket).  An award for the most creative hole design went to Mike Sullivan (and no, regardless of what he says, he was not Ron’s caddy).

DC Fieldtrip to Indiana Wesleyan University

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

On Friday, April 30 we closed our office early and took the whole company to tour the Indiana Wesleyan Campus.  Highlights of the tour included seeing the new 3800 seat Chapel/Auditorium, the David West designed “Schwoopter”, the Student Center,  the rec. center, the library, the prayer chapel, the CMC, and the Elder Hall classroom building.  For many people seeing the press box designed by Kelli Warner was the highlight.  Thanks to our great IWU team and to the good people at IWU for giving Design Collaborative the chance to be of service to them for the past 16 years.
