DC Engineers Speak at 2011 IAPPA

DC engineers Terry Wagner, Craig Scully, and Eric Sank each gave a presentation that focused on energy consumption in mechanical and electrical systems at the annual IAPPA conference held in Indianapolis on February 24th. The conference brings together Facility Directors from Indiana Colleges and Universities. Each presentation challenged some commonly held perceptions about lighting and heating/cooling systems. Design Collaborative was a Silver Level Corporate Sponsor of the 2011 Conference.

Harrison Square Project Restarts

Lead architect, and founding Design Collaborative Partner, Ron Dick spoke at a press conference in downtown Fort Wayne on Monday 2/14 announcing the construction of the $18m downtown Harrison Square project will begin this year. The 4-story building will house apartments, a law firm, a credit union, & O’Reilly’s Irish Bar. Construction will begin when weather permits and is scheduled for completion within 15 months.

Fan Friday and Chili Contest

On Friday 2/2/11 the pre-Superbowl weekend was kicked off with a Chili Cookoff and Fantastic Fan Friday. Kevin Fenn, sporting his OSU pajamas, won the Fan contest even though he was not aware of the contest. Ron Dick was initially voted to have the best chili, but an investigation discovered he bought his chili at Baker Street. Matt Elliott was then voted to have the best chili. Congrats to Kevin and Matt.

Partners – Pancakes – Perfect

On Monday, January 31st, the DC partners surprised us with a pancake breakfast prior to our weekly staff meeting. It was a great way to start the week. And the guys really looked sharp in their new chef hats.

No Dodging our January Fun Event

On Friday, Jan 28th, we knocked off early and headed to the downtown YMCA for our January fun event – Dodgeball. Matt “Head Shot” Elliott was voted MVP, Tim Terman was voted most like the “Human Flash”, Jamie Inskeep was voted “Best Sole Survivor”, Ryan Birkey had the “Play of the Day”, Kelly Shields had the Best Wind Up, and Brian Andrews was voted most likely to be hit.
