DC University

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

DC has just finished an exciting new renovation project, and this time we get to enjoy it ourselves! Recently finished, DC University was created to serve as the new home for Design Collaborative’s internal training and continuing education efforts. Associates will use the new learning lab to teach and attend regularly scheduled classes throughout the year, with topics ranging from project management and delivery software to design theory. A very special thanks goes out to Greg Estes and Jason Baker, who both were instrumental in the creation and continued development of DC University!

DCFFL Pizza Party!

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

Design Collaborative held its DC Fantasy Football League (DCFFL) award ceremony, this past Friday during lunch, honoring Grant Pasterick (son of President, Pat Pasterick) as the 2011-2012 DCFFL champion. (Top picture showing the 2010-2011 winner, Tim Terman, reluctantly giving up the traveling trophy.) A little healthy competition brewed between 22 employees and/or family members during the 10th season of DCFFL which kicked off back in August at the draft party and wrapped up Friday at the award ceremony. Grant joins the DC “Circle of Champions” including Ron Dick, Ryan Birkey, Jeremy Koomler and Tim Terman!

DC Hires New Interior Designer!

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

We are proud to announce that we have hired Lauren Curvey to join Jess Miller on DC’s interior design team. Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design at Purdue University in West Lafayette. Originally from Columbus, Indiana, Lauren recently relocated to Fort Wayne from Springfield, Illinois where she worked for a contract furniture dealership. Currently, Lauren’s parents and brother reside in Mississippi.

Fun fact about Lauren: She trapped and killed a 9 foot alligator this summer! We’re all excited to have you here (especially Jess!)

DC Participates in Groundhog Open

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Design Collaborative was proud to be apart of the First Annual Groundhog Open event which took place yesterday at the Grand Wayne Center. Design Collaborative, along with other area businesses, sponsored and designed one of the 18 holes on the mini-golf course.

Put together by The Alliance and the Downtown Improvement District, the event raised at least $20,000 to buy and maintain flower pots in downtown Fort Wayne. Throughout the day, three teams of DC employees put on their game face to putt for this good cause as well as several employees helped to organize the event.
