We are pleased to announce that Construction Engineer Bob Sanderson is now a Registered Roof Consultant!
Sanderson recently passed the Registered Roof Consultant Certification (RRC) exam. He is one of nine people in Indiana with this certification, and one of two in Fort Wayne. He has been in the design industry for 33 years, and with Design Collaborative since 2014.
RRC is an international program developed by the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC). The exam tests knowledge and “understanding of codes and standards; roofing materials and their inherent properties; roofing assemblies; performance analysis and design for wind, drainage, and moisture and thermal considerations; quality assurance; and in-field and laboratory testing methods,” according to the IIBEC.
Over the past 15 years, the building design industry has seen significant evolution of building technology. Arguably, this is the greatest expansion of technology that our industry has ever seen.
“In order to keep up with the access to information that informs how we design our buildings, Bob Sanderson has taken a leading role for Design Collaborative by achieving his professional certification as a Registered Roof Consultant,” said Kevin Scully, Principal and leader of the Higher Education studio. “With this certification, Bob will be able to guide our clients through the complex process of selecting the right roof for their project by balancing initial cost, life cycle costs, longevity, maintenance, and warranty.”
This certification is one more step in the process of establishing Design Collaborative as a premier leader in the building design industry and assures that we can offer our clients the expertise they deserve as technology continues to evolve well into the future.
