SIRVA

SIRVA relocated over 400 employees from their existing building on the edge of Fort Wayne and consolidated into a 77,000-sf space downtown. Their space was very large, and their workforce contracted significantly over time. Rather than invest money into a building too large for their needs, they chose to relocate and invest in downtown.

Located on floors 5-11 of the Indiana Michigan Power Center, the renovation is a predominantly open office space. Fewer than 30 employees have private offices, with full glass fronts for transparency. Open office space on the exterior along the windows promotes views for the entire staff versus just private offices. A large community hub for both work and social engagements within the company is on the 11th floor.

In-floor power and data ducts is fed from below, keeping work station space clean and open. Our interior design team assisted with furniture selection. They consciously chose lower partitions between work stations, as trends in workplace design have shown employees are more aware of their noise level and courtesy to one another when they can make eye contact. Overall, this creates
a more open feel for their office because the lower partitions allow a view of the outside throughout the entire office without visual obstruction.
